Anakao Ocean Lodge

At €180 a night, I didn't think this place was worth the price. It's quite isolated from the other hotels, and you pay extra for every activity. The hotel itself is well kept and the food tastes good, but portions are rather small. Service also fell short of what I'd expect at this price.

The Caipirinha 27, with loads of shredded ginger, was our favorite thing we had. We stayed two nights in a huge ocean view room, with lovely breezes, and the bathroom was just as spacious. Everything was very clean. Meals came in generous portions and were mostly delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient, even when a large group had them stretched thin.

The staff seemed grumpy, and for some puzzling reason they were reluctant to tell us about several things on the menu. Some dishes were tasty, others disappointing, but everything was expensive. For the quality and amount you get, it felt overpriced, like 8000 Ar for a cup of hot water.

The older bungalows could maybe use a refresh, though the newer ones are 👌. We really enjoyed staying here, with a much quieter beach than in Anakao and very good food. The owner is a nice guy and flexible about requests.
