Prince Anakao

The beach area was nice and clean, with lovely white sand, and the hotel itself was really clean too. The annoying part was getting hassled by locals trying to sell things as soon as you step onto the beach.

The setting right by the beach is great, and the rooms are very spacious and clean, so it could work for a night or two. We weren't happy with the lack of quality, though, like the leaking toilet. We also found the management and staff unwelcoming and unhelpful.

The resort is basic but comfortable and clean. We paid for a cooked breakfast, which was nice, but the packed breakfast for our early departure was DRY BREAD AND BANANA only. All 12 of us got that, quite a saving for them. Disgusting!!! Better still, don't stay there.

Horrible! The beach and Anakao are gorgeous, but the service completely soured our stay. We needed two rooms for my parents and for my husband and me, and this was the worst service we'd had on an expensive stay, after traveling through three cities in Japan, Mumbai India, and three other cities in Madagascar. Communication was a mess. They have two Facebook accounts under different names, with different information about room availability and what's included. When we asked about availability and explained our plans just to get information, they treated that as a booking and got angry when we didn't confirm our plans. We hadn't known, and it belongs in the horrible communication box. We booked two rooms with hot water, but were put in a new house that wasn't ready for guests. There was no water at all, not even cold water, no garbage bins, and no warning about any of this when booking. When we arrived, no one was at reception to welcome us. Instead, we were told, "You're early! Please wait." When we asked why there was no water and what service we were paying for, we got screamed at, told to find another hotel, and personally insulted. The exact words were: "Madam, I have never seen anyone as difficult as you."
