I can't understand the good ratings tourists give it on some apps. The lobby photos aren't a good guide, the rooms are very shabby. They charged a lot for a dark room with a mattress so thin I could feel the wood underneath. There were mosquitoes everywhere, plenty squashed on the walls, and the place didn't seem to get cleaned much. Nearby hotels are cleaner, have bigger rooms, and cost less. The one good thing was the man at reception, who was as charming as any Malagasy.

It's easy to feel at home here, and the team are very helpful. The place is quiet but still conveniently close to the city centre.
