Hotel Diamant

The building looks quite interesting from inside, especially toward the backyard, and it dominates the street view near the town center. They have rooms for drivers included in the price. But our two stays, at different times, were alike: the rooms were big and really, really dirty, with all kinds of bugs everywhere. After the first night we thought we’d just been unlucky, but the second was the same.

We got zebu with rice, tomato salad, and boiled rice water, and it was all good. The food was cheap and good. You get what you pay for.

The staff are very friendly, and I felt safe staying at this good hotel.

The service was disappointing. I was served the main course before the appetizer, even though we were the only customers in the restaurant. The food was the one thing I can comment on, and it didn’t brighten up the rooms. The nymph legs a la meunier were delicious, though they were actually sautéed with garlic. The ravitoto was okay, but I prefer it with coconut. The beef with onions was tasty.
