Antsanitia Resort

The area is beautiful, but the stay was awful and nothing like what was advertised. Our pool villa had a filthy pool, mosquitoes and dead bugs everywhere, and dirty sheets. We asked twice for the room to be cleaned. When someone finally came, she had only a broom and dirty rag, with no cleaning products. There was no AC, and despite the listing mentioning ceiling fans, there weren't any. The portable fans were useless in 35 degrees Celsius. They offered us rooms with air conditioning, so we chose one and had our bags moved. That room was dirty too, with dead bugs, mosquitoes, spider nests behind the bed, and bed bugs on the bed. We found another hotel right away and hired a driver to get us out. The drive took us for miles along a remote road in the dark, which made us worry about safety. We didn't stay even one night. Getting to this expensive resort is difficult, so the whole thing was a real disappointment. We contacted Expedia to request a refund, since we hadn't stayed the night and given what happened. The hotel refused and hasn't responded to our emails or WhatsApp. Reviews claiming the hotel is clean are an absolute joke.

We were welcomed warmly by the staff, but the villa was so dirty and unsafe that we left immediately and didn't spend a night. We had to arrange our own transport and book another hotel that same evening. The manager who responded was rude, and despite several attempts to contact Expedia and the property, they refused to refund us even though we hadn't stayed. We had checked into a plunge pool villa. The pool was filthy, and the beach towels looked as though they hadn't been washed in ages. It was unbearably hot without AC; there were portable fans but no ceiling fans. Dead bugs covered the dirty sheets and were scattered through the villa, with plenty of live bugs and mosquitoes too. I asked twice for cleaning. On the second visit they changed the sheets, but brought only a dirty broom and rag, no cleaning products. We accepted another villa that was supposed to be cleaned before our things were moved in. It still looked untouched, with dead bugs, live mosquitoes and other insects everywhere, plus live spiders and nests behind the headboard and bedbugs. Between lunch and dinner there wasn't much choice, so we had pizza as a snack. It tasted frozen and old. The place was nothing like the reviews saying it was clean. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Please be careful.

We saw three rooms in person because the place was so dirty and full of bugs that we wanted to move: the plunge pool villa, the family villa, and the bungalow villa. The hotel still refused our refund, despite what happened and the fact that we never stayed. We had read older reviews mentioning bedbugs and the hotel's refusal to compensate guests. There were bedbugs, live and dead bugs, and mosquitoes everywhere during our visit. Please be wary of reviews saying the place is clean. Don't stay.

There were dead bugs, live bugs, mosquitoes, and bedbugs, with spider nests behind the bed where you sleep. I showed the on-site manager how disgusting it was, but we still got no refund after asking. The manager was rude and unreasonable. We felt unsafe and left without spending the night. I won't stay here again. Please beware.
