The pool was nice, but the room was tiny and the price felt high for what was offered. It’s a bit outside town, and the road out front is so bad cars can’t pull up to the entrance. I left after a disagreement over laundry: they wanted €1 to wash a sock or a pair of underwear, adding up to about €20. Ridiculous. We’re in Africa, and that money goes to management, while workers earn €40 a month. The restaurant and reception both close at 6 pm. It was just okay, and I wouldn’t return.

The breakfast ladies were especially kind, and the rest of the staff were incredibly attentive. It’s a charming hotel only a few steps from the city center.

Set in the middle of the city but surrounded by greenery, the hotel has bungalows arranged around the pool. The rooms were clean, with fans and air conditioning, and the staff were welcoming and available.

The pool is a real treat at night, with colorful lights, and the garden around it is lush and well kept. There were quite a lot of insects, especially ants, on the loungers and around the restaurant, though. The restaurant shuts at 8 pm and serves vegetarian food, mostly with Indo-Pakistani and European influences. It was fine, we’d get through the night, and the beach is about a 15-minute walk away if you want kebabs. The grounds were spotless and beautifully looked after. Reception staff were warm, professional, and friendly. The bellhop, on the other hand, stayed in his plastic chair after I made an awkward gesture, as if the hot weather had glued him to it 😂😮💨 🏖🏝🌅🪴🌺⛱️🌊
