Trecicogne

The setting is peaceful, close to the sea, with a lovely river view, and the restaurant is very nice. My room, though, was tiny, and there was no hot water during the day. Don't book a trip or airport shuttle through the hotel, the prices were much higher than normal. When I checked out and paid in local currency, I was overcharged by almost 10 euros, they didn't show me the standard exchange rate, and I got no invoice.

For the price, everything worked well and there was nothing to complain about. The staff were so, so nice. I was absolutely happy with my stay.

The laundry service was good, and the place was clean. The restaurant never seemed to be open while I was there. It costs 110 for a private room with a private bath, which feels overpriced. Drivers bring people here because it's one of the few places in Morondava that lets them stay for free. More places should do that, and it's definitely a point in this one's favor. You can get a private beachfront bungalow with a pool for less, closer to the main road.

The rooms were comfortable and clean, and the staff were nice. The restaurant on site had a decent choice of food, and what I tried was tasty. I stayed for two nights. Both the first and second rooms had leaking toilets, so I had to move twice. They offered no gesture for the trouble, only another room, which I accepted. The rooms were extremely hot. AC cost extra, though the fans helped. WiFi was available, but the connection in the room was very weak.
