Blue Sky Resort

I wouldn’t stay here again. It’s a long way from the center, the facilities feel stuck in the 1980s, and it wasn’t worth the money. The receptionist or owner was extremely rude. Paint was peeling off the red bathroom walls, and it got onto my socks.

We had a good breakfast included, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. The pool is magnificent, and the resort itself is very pretty, with friendly, engaging owners and staff. Thanks, Franco. We enjoyed our stay and hope we can come back someday.

We came at the beginning of July 2025, before the summer holiday season, and the resort and dinner area were both quiet. Blue Sky Resort was our choice for its food, price and location. It’s a two-minute walk to a small local beach, and Andilana beach is about a 15-minute tuk-tuk ride away. The lunch and dinner were a real strength. The food was prepared to a high standard, and people even came over from other hotels to eat here. I saw a fisherman arrive with freshly caught fish, prawns and lobster, and was told the fish had been caught that morning. It’s best to ask the owner what’s available and preorder your lunch and dinner. Breakfast was basic and could be improved. We had to leave early, so ours was packed to go: yoghurt, bread that was unfortunately stale, and bananas. They also had mango and papaya when I asked. Our double room had a mini fridge, but no drinks in it, and air conditioning. The mattress felt like a sponge, though I noticed that was common at other places we stayed. There was no fly screen around our bed. I can’t say whether the other rooms have nets. The bathroom was spacious enough for two, with good, reliable hot water from the boiler and okay water pressure. Wi-Fi only worked in the dining area, so bring your own SIM or data plan if you need internet in your room. Grazie Mille Manuel and Franco !

It was clean, cosy, convenient and really well looked after, with a cute feel to the place. Angnese welcomed us so warmly, and the staff were great. Manuel and Franco, the owners, were especially amazing. They helped us set up and organize our excursions at a very good price.
