The location is a real advantage, with restaurants, bars, water activity centers, an ATM, small shops, and the beach all just a short walk away. Our room 8 was spacious, and its big terrace had fantastic sunset views. Those were the room’s only advantages, though. It was shabby and untidy, with oily or dirty marks and cracks on the walls and sofa. That made the stay uncomfortable and unpleasant, and the room definitely needs renovation. Air conditioning costs extra. The staff were consistently friendly and helpful, no complaints there. Breakfast was a poor buffet with limited choice. Omelets aren’t included and cost extra. Everything was crowded onto two small tables, making it inconvenient to serve yourself. I wouldn’t recommend it if you want a comfortable stay.

The hotel is nice, the staff are very friendly, and breakfast is very good. But it’s too loud at night even with all the windows closed, so I wouldn’t choose it for a quiet, relaxing vacation. It seems better suited to people who enjoy the city nightlife. The beds creak too much when you move, and the Wi-Fi is slow and keeps cutting out. Air conditioning costs an extra 30000ar per day. Card payments have a 5% fee, and MasterCard doesn’t work. The main road to the hotel is also bad and dirty.

I really liked the room, and the staff were very kind, especially the owner. He gave us a special discount and showed us around Ambatolaoka when we arrived. There’s a cook who can prepare whatever dish you order, the way you like it. Just be mindful of how much you put on the shopping list.

The hotel sits on a hillside above the village, with excellent views out to sea.
