It's a lovely place and the people there are so cool. Everything was fine, but they only have fans, and the infrastructure can't handle the heat. On a 32°C day it was so hard to breathe.

The houses were spotless, spacious, and very well equipped, and the gorgeous pool was a highlight. The hotel is wonderfully run, and even though bars and restaurants are nearby, it stayed quiet. I spent a full week here and liked that the experience still felt authentically Malagasy. For a better beach, go to Palm beach or further up to Andilana, away from Ambatoloaka. It's much, much better.

The cottages have their own veranda and small garden, and they're very comfortable. The pool, gardens, and cottages are looked after every day. It's a home from home, with friendly, professional owners and staff who make you welcome and don't make a fuss about requests. Ask the manager Mr. Silvan for something and your wishes are met. You're only a two-minute walk from the restaurants and bars, so it's easy to move from Residence Ambalamanga's peace and quiet into the energy and noise of the village. Enjoy your stay.

After a month traveling in Nosy Be with my wife and staying in several hotels, this was easily our favorite. It was very clean, roomy, and in a quiet, beautiful spot just a couple of minutes' walk from the main street. The staff were friendly and helpful. Manager Jerome Rabearivony was especially welcoming. Cam organized our trips, helped us buy groceries at the market, and was always around to answer questions. Highly recommended.
