Sangany lodge

The quiet beach, sunsets and lush gardens made Sangany Lodge feel like a hidden paradise, and the views were stunning. We came for 16 days on Nosy Be, and it turned into our best vacation so far. The whole team was kind and attentive, always making an effort to help us feel at home. We’re still talking about the grilled lobster, a huge serving for €17, and the Piña Colada, just €5 and the best we’ve had. Every meal tasted fresh and full of flavor. From the peaceful setting to the warm welcome when we arrived, the whole stay felt like a dream. Thank you, Sangany Lodge, we’ll carry these memories with us.

When my son and I got sick from food poisoning at a previous hotel, the people here took such kind care of us. They brought tea and medicine and looked after us with real concern, which I’m deeply grateful for. Sangany Lodge is beautiful and welcoming, the service is caring and attentive, and we enjoyed the food, kayaking and amazing sunsets. Breakfast right by the beach was a wonderful way to start each day. They also arranged our transfers and tours smoothly, so the stay felt stress-free. I highly recommend this special place.

Yvonne is charismatic, knowledgeable and attentive, and she’s very helpful. The staff are lovely and professional too, especially Doris. I enjoyed lunch on the beach by the sea, and the food was delicious, with French and Italian standards. The rooms are spacious, stylish and comfortable, right in front of a lagoon, with great attention to detail. It’s a relaxing place to unplug and recharge, with boat trips available. The massages were good as well.

We had an amazing stay, and this was the most comfortable place we found in Madagascar. It’s a small lodge on a remote part of Nosy Be, which means there isn’t much to do right nearby, and that’s part of its charm. They can arrange all kinds of activities, though, and Nosy Fanihy is only a few minutes offshore, with incredible beaches and snorkeling. The beach here is nice and kept as clean as they can manage. We liked the small scale, the comfortable beds, and the included breakfast on the beach. The few villas were extremely clean by Malagasy standards. Madame Yvonne was friendly and helpful with excursions around the island. We also appreciated that she hires people from nearby villages and supports their Hotel & Tourism studies. It seems like a good way to help improve their quality of life. The lodge is also far from the large resorts and the sex tourism found in the south of Nosy Be.
