I’ve been coming back almost every year since 2008. The people are friendly, the rooms get cleaned daily, and the food is excellent. You get an amazing view, reefs for snorkeling, and hikes where you can see lemurs and reptiles. Feels like paradise!
We had a lovely, simple time here. The meals were generous, varied and good quality.
The meals at Gargotte Soavola are homemade, hearty and delicious. They also rent bungalows. It’s in the seaside village of Antafondra, and you can only get there by dugout canoe from the small port of Hellville.
We loved the authentic simplicity and feeling of being away from the world so much that we returned at the end of our two-month stay. It was the highlight of our trip. We’ll come back to recharge after the Covid-19 crisis.
