293 On Komba Guest House

Our time at 293 on Komba Guest Lodge was unforgettable. The facilities were first class, the staff were consistently kind and helpful, and Danielle made sure everything ran smoothly. She arranged the excursions just as we asked, took us up to the highest point on Nosy Komba, and helped us shop at the market twice. Lemur Park, with its knowledgeable guide, was another trip highlight. Getting there was easy thanks to Roland, who met us in Nosy Be, handled our luggage, drove us in a comfortable air-conditioned car, stopped so we could get cash, and helped us onto the boat. His warm, professional welcome set the tone for the holiday. We loved the food and the friendly service from the chef and her assistant. Dessert and rum tasting became something my friend and I looked forward to each evening. Danielle and the whole team made us feel at home, and I can’t wait to return. The setting makes it easy to feel far away from everything, while still being close to island life. There are plenty of things to do nearby, from hiking on your own to day trips for snorkeling and exploring remote beaches. Lemurs come by daily, a lovely sight, and they keep their distance without bothering anyone. The rooms are comfortable, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Danielle and her team are wonderful, and Danielle makes you feel right at home. A little piece of paradise, definitely worth visiting. We’ll be back.

Watching island life from the pool, with lemurs visiting the mango trees every day, felt like pure Utopia. We spent 10 incredible days laughing, resting, hiking and swimming, and left so happy. The lodge is part of the community, and this was my third visit to 293 on Komba. I was fortunate to be there during the handover from Marcine to the new owners, Danielle and Chris, who have visited for years and understand what makes Nosy Komba special. They’re building on Marcine’s wonderful legacy with care and passion. The rooms are exceptional, and Zet and Josara lead a delightful team that’s kind, warm and funny, and keeps everything in good shape. The food is delicious, with fresh mango, plenty of wine to choose from, and fresh fish. I can’t wait to return.

A luxurious five star choice, and you really can’t go wrong here. Danielle and Chris have made this comfortable, well-run lodge work beautifully in a rural setting. There are four lovely rooms, the interiors and exterior are beautiful, and it’s eco friendly. The food is incredibly tasty, almost at the level of French cuisine. We’ll come back.
