Grey Star Hotel

We really enjoyed the pool and sunbathing area, and the food was exceptionally good. The rooms are spacious, with very modern amenities, and the hotel is newly built and family run. Everyone was welcoming. Ilija, the manager, made our anniversary feel special by arranging the best table in the restaurant and beautiful flower decorations. There’s secure parking, and it’s conveniently close to the motorway. The sauna wasn’t working yet, which made sense given how recently the hotel opened, and it didn’t spoil our stay. We had an amazing time and highly recommend it.

Handy stop for a night on the way somewhere, right off the A1 motorway. The reception staff were helpful, friendly, and professional, and the room was clean and spacious with a powerful shower. The mattress was very hard, WiFi was poor, and the restaurant food was just about edible. For a new hotel, some of the finishes already look a little shabby, and the surrounding grounds need landscaping. The amenities don’t justify the price. It’s clean and basic, but way overpriced for a place to sleep en route.

There was no running water from the taps during our stay, so we couldn’t wash, brush our teeth, or even fill a glass. The air conditioning didn’t work either, something the property description never mentioned. The staff came across as unprofessional and not service-minded, and we weren’t allowed to sit in the outdoor courtyard in the evening. Breakfast was very poor. The cold cuts were left out in the heat without cooling trays, and some food looked like leftovers from earlier days. Cleanliness was far below an acceptable standard, and even toilet paper was replenished only when we specifically asked. The stay didn’t meet our expectations or the standard we paid for. We’re deeply disappointed and expected much better service and experience.

It’s a nice new hotel, though there’s plenty that still needs work. The food was good, but breakfast could offer more variety. In winter especially, the water should be made hotter.
