We got good value for the price, and the lake was only about a five-minute walk away, so we could get around without using public transport. The bathroom setup was awkward: water spread across the floor, with no way to clear it, not even a mop. I also hadn't realized housekeeping and towel changes happened only every three days. I'm used to more frequent service and would have liked to know that beforehand.

The apartment matched the photos, and the location made it easy to get around. Shops, markets and drugstores were just a short walk away, with the town center about 10 minutes on foot. During our six-day stay, though, we got a hot bath only once; the water was otherwise freezing. Some neighbors were inconsiderate, and one poured dirty water from upstairs onto our clothes that were drying. When we needed help, the host seemed more concerned about money than assisting us. If you stay here, speak up when something goes wrong, and check the roads yourself since Google Maps may send you the longer way.

The apartment itself was just okay. I'd booked a different room in the center of Ohrid, but when I arrived the owner moved me here, about a 20-minute walk from the lake. I didn't find that honest.

You can manage a few things in the kitchen, but it barely feels like one. There isn't even a proper spot to chop a watermelon.

I've been going to Ohrid for years, and this was a fantastic stay. I'll be back!
