Hotel de Lago

I had booked a stay for this weekend through Airbnb, and the experience was extremely disappointing. When I contacted the owner to confirm the booking details, they said they had “forgotten” their Airbnb password and couldn't see any of their reservations. That's incredibly frustrating and shows a lack of responsibility and professionalism. How can a host forget about bookings on a platform they're actively using? I wouldn't recommend staying here if you want reliable communication or a host who prioritizes guests. Very disappointing.

The one good thing is the location: it's close to the lake, some rooms have a lovely lake view, and the large shopping street and restaurants are just around the corner. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, though. The reception was often unmanned, and staff couldn't be reached by phone. We only got one roll of toilet paper and had to buy more at the supermarket. We didn't get clean towels, and the rooms weren't very clean.

The room was spacious, the bed comfortable, and the view and location were fantastic. For the price, the accommodation was adequate, but don't expect miracles. The staff were amazing and went out of their way to help us. The kind, helpful gentleman seemed to be handling a lot on his own. On the downside, the Wi-Fi didn't work at all. We got a stronger signal from the restaurant across the street. The bathroom water drained slowly, and after a while in the shower the floor flooded. The facilities were a bit old but fully functional. We had to ask the cleaning lady for towels, and she kindly brought them.

My partner and I stayed in room 102 for two nights. Around 6:00 am, a man unlocked our door while we were inside, then quickly left when he saw my partner standing there ready to go to the bathroom. There was no one to complain to because the desk was unmanned. We left on 12th August, and the room was cleaned that morning while we went for coffee. The next morning I noticed my face cream, expensive perfume, and my partner's aftershave were missing. The cleaners from Hotel de Lago were the only people who had been in our room, so they were obviously taken by them. I'm so angry. People should be checked out before being employed.
