Vila Orhidea

The House of Robevci family is now owned by the municipality of Ohrid and is a heritage site by the beautiful Ohrid lake. Inside, the museum has authentic 19th-century furniture from one of Ohrid's wealthiest families of medical doctors.

Waking up to the view from the balcony on the top floor was the highlight of my solo stay. I'd originally booked a room without one, but that room happened to be free when I arrived, and the host made the upgrade easy. The owners were incredibly friendly and ready to help whenever I needed it. The location is great too, with lovely restaurants and beach bars close by, and plenty to explore whichever way you turn. I'd definitely recommend staying here.

Once we arrived, there was parking reserved for apartment guests. The owner was very kind, and the rooms had lake views right in the town center. Getting there by car was tricky, though. You need a pass to enter the old town, and the narrow, crowded streets make driving around difficult. Also, there's a nightclub in the building, with very loud music until 2 AM on weekends.

I was so happy here that I stayed an extra night. I visited in November, during the off-season, and spent several peaceful, quiet days in Ohrid. From the bed and balcony, the lake views were fantastic. The room had a fridge and cable TV, and there was a nice shared kitchenette for making tea or coffee. The owner was kind and friendly.
