Villa Swiss

We loved the lake and had a wonderful stay. The owner was kind and helpful, and breakfast came with good coffee. Our room was spacious and clean, and the beachfront location has sun loungers guests can use.

The rooms were very clean and up to date, and the staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. It’s right on beautiful Lake Ohrid, with the centre only a short taxi ride away. Location is 10/10. Highly recommend it if you’re visiting Ohrid.

The managers were kind people, and the view was lovely. But nobody at the hotel could speak English. Our room wasn’t very clean: there was hair in the bathroom from someone else who had showered, and the doors were dusty. The bathroom made a strange noise for a long time, and we could hear people in the next room talking and using their bathroom.

Villa Swiss is in a small complex near the beach, with a small supermarket and a grill and pizza restaurant where the food is exceptional. It’s about five minutes by car from Ohrid, and a taxi into town costs 300 denars one way, around 5 euros. The staff were friendly, polite, and helpful, and breakfast was very good. The beach was exceptionally clean, and the water was warm, honestly like swimming in the sea. Ohrid is beautiful, and it was a wonderful trip. North Macedonia is an amazing country and well worth visiting!
