We had a very poor stay and I wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The room was filthy, with dusty, dirty beds and bedding that hadn’t been changed. The air conditioning didn’t work, the shower barely worked, and the toilet was in a terrible state. We were also promised a lake view, but could only see trees in the courtyard. There’s no private parking, so you have to leave the car on the street and pay €10 a day. When we arrived, nobody was at reception or anywhere else in the building. As arranged with the staff beforehand, we collected the room keys from the reception desk ourselves. These are only some of the many problems we had.

The place was dirty, the wardrobe was broken, and they hadn’t left any toilet paper or soap. We found wet towels on the bed, paper-thin pillow filling, a terrible mattress, and no blankets or anything else to cover up with. For what it costs, I expected the basics to be sorted. It honestly isn’t worth half the price, and I wouldn’t stay here again.

Villa White Lake is well placed for a quiet lakeside walk, exploring historic Ohrid, or taking a boat trip, with everything easy to reach. The apartment itself was stylish and comfortable from the moment I came in. The hosts were warm, attentive, and knew the area well. They were easy to reach and happy to help with requests, including dinner reservations and suggestions for things to do. They made every interaction pleasant.

The clean, comfortable rooms helped us relax, and we enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere and local feel of Ohrid. My husband and I were comfortable throughout and appreciated every moment. From the start, the staff were warm and attentive, helping us with all the little details and making our stay memorable. I can’t praise the apartment enough. If you want friendly service in a welcoming place, these apartments are a great choice.

Villa White Lake is right by Lake Ohrid, with lovely views and a peaceful feel, yet it’s in the town centre and easy to get around from. The hotel feels warm and cosy, and the staff were friendly and ready to help. I felt welcome as soon as I arrived. It’s a nice choice if you want somewhere calm that’s still close to everything. I had a wonderful stay and can’t wait to return.
