Hotel Desaret

The workers were really nice and the view was good, but the stay was a mess. There was cat poop on the balcony, the dinner was cold, and the bread was moldy. Everything seemed damaged or broken, and there were bedbugs too.

The staff were kind and helpful, though they seemed overwhelmed with how much work they had. Food was only okay, and our room wasn't clean. During our five-day stay, the towels were replaced just once, on day two.

Bedbugs were everywhere, and I ended up bitten all over. The rooms clearly aren't being maintained or cleaned properly, and the stains and dirt across the walls, floors, and sheets made the place feel like a health hazard. This was the worst hotel stay I've ever had. I can't believe it's allowed to operate. Avoid it completely if you care about your health and peace of mind.

I can't comment on the rooms. The location is decent, and the place could be great if someone kept it repaired. We tried to eat there three times. First, we came for a drink and were rudely asked to pay in advance, which seemed odd since no other restaurant in the village does that. Next time, we arrived a bit late and waited about 20 minutes before being told they couldn't serve food because there'd be a wedding afterparty downstairs. Fair enough, but they were annoyed when we left without ordering drinks. On our third visit, after another 20-minute wait, we were told only two menu items were available, some kind of pork and chicken dishes. There weren't even other guests on the terrace, so I can see why. We won't try a fourth time this year. Truly sad.
