The paths are clean and looked after, so it’s a lovely, quiet spot to wander around. I also really liked the café. You can sit inside without smoke, and the coffee is freshly made and excellent. A very easy place to enjoy a peaceful afternoon.

The view across Lake Matka is magical, and the restaurant is a great place to unwind after hiking through the canyon. Food was excellent too. It’s a little pricey, but the scenery makes it feel worth it. Highly recommend.

Even with every table empty, including the ones by the seaside, they had marked them all reserved and seated people randomly. We ended up at a very isolated table in the corner. The buffet was already half gone when we came for breakfast, but we still paid full price. The staff were extremely unfriendly and didn’t seem interested in helping. We didn’t enjoy it at all. I’m not saying people shouldn’t come, but the owners really need to sort these things out.

We stopped in after our walk for dessert and coffee. That chocolate soufflé with mascarpone was heavenly. I honestly can’t remember the last time I had a better one.

I only had a drink at the restaurant, no room stay. It’s a lovely spot and the view is amazing. Prices are a bit high for Macedonia, but manageable.
