You can walk to the Vardar River in a minute, and to Macedonia Square or the Old Bazaar in about three. The hotel is right in central Skopje, which makes it a very handy base for exploring. The staff are really friendly and happy to give advice or help with whatever you need. The hotel itself is comfortable. The bathrooms feel fairly modern, while the rooms have more of a 90s look. It seems upgrades are underway, and I’d gladly stay here again, but it may not suit you if you’re after a sleek, modern European-style hotel. There’s a small gym too, though it’s quite limited and could improve as renovations continue. A very good option if you’re fine with the old-school feel.

The location was excellent, but the room cleanliness gets two out of five at best. The bed and sheets were clean, though the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed properly, and there were stains on the bathroom floor and wall tiles. The lower parts of the walls were scratched and damaged, with no repairs made. We stayed for breakfast two days. It was just acceptable, with little variety, and the bread was never fresh. The internet was extremely poor, constantly connecting and dropping out. We could barely use it at all.

At golden hour or at night, the reflections on the water make Stone Bridge especially good for photos. The river, city skyline, and historic buildings around it create beautiful, timeless views. If you focus on the bridge, river, and architecture, it’s easy to forget you’re in a modern city. It feels like a journey through history, almost a trip back in time. A must-see in Skopje.

It was a pretty average stay, neither bad nor great. I’d have given it four stars if it cost less. Around 90€ a night feels high for this, 70€ would’ve made more sense.
