Opera House Hotel

This was the worst stay of my life. Opera hotel is now called skopje apartments, and you can book it on booking com. I reserved through the site after seeing good reviews and photos, but we had a hard time finding it. The owner of the mini market below the apartments served us. I’d booked partly because of the private parking, and asked whether it was safe for our motorbike. In the end there was no parking, and the machine would have been exposed in an area frequented by “strange people.” He gave us the last apartment at the very top. The building had an elevator, but the power was out, so we had to use a flashlight and climb the stairs. It looked like an abandoned old hotel with no power, although our room did have electricity. We left our things and I went to take a bath. The bathroom was filthy: cigars were all over the sinks, hair everywhere, urine in the toilet, and toothpaste on the mirror and sink. It clearly hadn’t been cleaned before we arrived. The fridge smelled bad and was covered in fingerprints. The bed linen smelled used, and the couch was dirty. I was disgusted by how dirty it was underneath. I reported all of this to Customer Service with evidence, but haven’t received a response so far. I don’t recommend staying there.

There weren't many amenities, but the room was fine for an overnight stay.
