Sultan Modern Hotel

The location is pretty good, near all the important sights, and the breakfast was tasty with plenty of typical Macedonian food. But parking in front of the hotel is very difficult, and the stay wasn’t worth the money. I’d never recommend it. It’s definitely not 4 stars. The rooms were very small, old, and dirty. The WiFi was awful, with a weak signal that kept dropping, and our room barely got any reception. When we arrived, our towels had holes and the TV didn’t work. Reception promised to replace the towels and fix the TV, but five hours later nothing had been done. We had to ask again and wait downstairs, only to get towels with holes in them once more. The service was terrible, and the personnel seemed more interested in playing video games than helping guests. Bad WiFi, small rooms, terrible service.

During days 6-12 at Sultan Modern Hotel at Skopje, I found getting luggage from street level up to the higher floors quite a struggle without the porter. There’s no lift. I didn’t try to guess what I was served for dinner or breakfast. The room was small, and anyone extra large may have trouble maneuvering to the bed or around the bathroom and toilet.

The hotel was very clean, with nice rooms, a good location, and professional staff. The only issue is having to haul your suitcase up to the first floor.

Everything was clean, and there was parking in front of the hotel. Staff were friendly, the room was comfortable, and the breakfast buffet had a good selection. You can walk to all the places of interest from here.
