Hotel Imperial Struga

The receptionist was snobby and impatient, and wouldn’t let us use the restroom. We hadn’t picked a place to stay that night, and after that, would we choose your run-down hotel? Calling this a luxury hotel is laughable. A $200-a-night hotel in the US is considered cheap, yet it’s much cleaner and nicer.

Our room took ages to be ready, while everyone else seemed to get theirs almost straight away. We were paying separately, unlike the others whose conference stay was funded by the university.

The bathroom kept leaking, leaving the floor wet the whole time and making it unsafe and hard to use. There was visible mold and dampness in the corners, a strong bad smell, and the room was extremely dirty. There were spiders everywhere, and the area had lizards crawling around and homeless dogs. The staff were unfriendly and unprofessional, and wouldn’t help or respond to complaints. The stay was stressful and disgusting instead of restful. For a place advertised as a “SPA & Resort,” this feels like a disgrace and a clear deception of customers. The Ministry of Health urgently needs to inspect it. Hygiene is far below an acceptable standard and poses a real health risk. Absolutely not recommended. Nobody should have to spend a holiday in conditions like this.

Hotel Drim was a huge disappointment. There were ants in the room, the toilet wouldn’t flush, and water got everywhere when we bathed because the shower cabin door wouldn’t close. The hair dryer didn’t work either. In mid-July there was no AC in the lobby or elevators.
