Hotel Yadanarbon

The bed was very comfortable and breakfast was quite good. Hotel Yadanarbon has a great location, and the staff are incredibly kind and helpful. The building is a bit worn and dusty, but that's something you notice around Myanmar, especially with fewer tourists about. Given local conditions, it's a pleasant and convenient place to stay.

Customer service was nice, and the room was great, though the key isn't a smart key. There are two elevators, one for guest rooms and another that goes to the rooftop swimming pool. Guests can get one free cocktail during rooftop pool happy hour. It would be good to have air conditioning in the breakfast room.

The rooftop pool and its view are lovely, breakfast is good, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. The place was clean too. Still, the hotel feels worn and overdue for a refurbishment. The decor is dated, and the shower had weak pressure and took ages to heat up. One Sunday night there was a concert in the street a couple of buildings away. It went past 1 a.m. with loud speakers that kept everyone awake. I’m sure that isn’t an everyday thing, and the hotel couldn’t do anything about it, but noise-sensitive guests might want to keep it in mind.

The staff were very helpful, and the laundry came back washed, folded, and ready the same day for a good price. I also really appreciated having the pool to cool off in after a day in the sun, so paying a little more for that felt worthwhile. The hotel is somewhat dated, though the room and bathroom were as clean as they could be given the wear and tear. The rate was very reasonable, and I’d stay again.
