The staff and owner were so kind, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty, with fried rice and bread they bake themselves. That made the problems with the room especially disappointing. The sheets and towels were dirty when I arrived. They replaced them after I asked, but the replacements were dirty and smelled bad too. The mosquito net over the bed was old, dirty, and smelly. Washing it regularly seems like a simple fix. The bathroom was dirty and smelled, with cold water and a shower that barely ran. The fan didn't work, and mosquitoes still got into the room despite the net. The rooms have an authentic feel, but I expected better cleanliness for a paid room. I've slept in a hammock outside plenty of times, so I'm not fussy, but these are basic maintenance issues that shouldn't take much to address. The location is fine. I hope the owners take this as friendly advice rather than a harsh review. They're very warm and welcoming, and it's a shame that these small problems let the place down. Other travelers should know what to expect before booking.
