Loved the place’s charm and the bubbly group of young women running it. They were welcoming, and everything felt spacious. Breakfast was filling enough that I often didn’t need to eat again until just before sunset, which saved money and left more time to get lost among the temples. I’d happily stay again, but I wouldn’t book a dorm: the bathroom was disgusting, and it was really loud because it was on the street and right above the lobby. The private rooms are great. The atmosphere is young, and the English was decent. Light sleepers should know it can be noisy.

The room was clean and had good beds, though the bathroom needs work. Its floor is flat, so shower water runs all over with no way to keep it contained. The hotel looks very good, and I especially liked the reception and garden.

We’d definitely stay again. For around 14 USD a night for a double room, this was one of the best hotels we stayed at in Myanmar. The location is both central and quiet, with a nice lobby and beautiful grounds, gardens, and pond. Rooms are huge, the staff are friendly, breakfasts are fantastic, prices are fair, and the free water refill station is a great plastic-free touch. The WiFi was pretty much useless. We were told several times that someone would service our air conditioner, but nobody came. There was no remote, and the unit seemed to do whatever it wanted. I’d rather see the hotel improve its WiFi than install new TVs everywhere.

The room was good and breakfast was great, but the staff were the main reason for my three-star rating. They wouldn’t help us call a doctor or arrange a bus, even though other hotels do this, especially given the language barrier. We also didn’t expect touting at the hotel. The youngest staff member did it very aggressively.

The breakfast was great, and we were even able to check in at 6 AM. The hotel is in a good spot in New Bagan, with e-bike rental next door for 4000 kyat a day. The beds were really nice, the rooms were big and well insulated, and they stayed quite cool. Staff were friendly, and there’s a fridge and AC. Hot water takes a while, but I had nothing else to complain about.
