The staff went above and beyond. When my thumb joint suddenly hurt terribly and swelled up, I didn't know what to do, but someone from the hotel bought me a specific TOOTHPASTE to put on my hand, and the pain went away. I'll never forget that. The room was large and clean, and the boulevard in front of the hotel was lovely. I hadn't expected service this good from a three-star place. New Bagan is quieter and costs less, and although the hotel rents e-bikes, you need them to see the temples, which are spread far apart. Bagan itself is incredibly beautiful, and I think this place deserves more than three stars because of its amazing staff.

The pool was nice, breakfast was good though not amazing, and the people were friendly. Our room was on the small side and very dark. The location was decent. It gets TripAdvisor's number one review spot for Bagan, which I found a little puzzling. Maybe it really is the best, but I'm not sure how it stacks up against other hotels nearby.

It's a pleasant place to stay, whether you're using it as a base to visit Bagan's temples or just to relax. The property itself is nice, but the people are what make it special. The staff were outstanding, especially Cho, who did everything she could to make our stay enjoyable. I was sick for a couple of days, and the dining staff helped me feel better with rice soup and green tea. The rest of the food was fantastic too.

We stayed at the Blue Bird in Bagan and liked this small hotel. The pool was clean and a nice place to unwind after visiting the thousands of temples. The staff were friendly and helpful, and I'd definitely recommend it if you prefer a smaller place. My wife and I like exploring, and we found the family-run Nightingale just a few steps away. It's about a three-minute walk, and we can highly recommend it for dinner and drinks.

We were impressed by the breakfast, and the restaurant food was high quality, even if a little pricey. We ate there both nights and felt it was worth it. The staff were classy and attentive, and the bed was a true king size, more comfortable than almost every bed we've had in Europe or elsewhere in Asia. This was the third hotel in a row in Myanmar that beat most European hotels we stay in, and it cost a fraction as much. Well done, Myanmar!
