New Yangon Hotel

I paid 28,000 Kyats for a superior double for one night, but the receptionist put me in a very low-standard room. It was tiny and creepy, and I felt uncomfortable there. The curtain and sheets were filthy, dust was all over the shower room and toilet, and the water was brown. There was no drinking water, and the cups were dirty. I had booked one night, but left after less than four hours and went elsewhere. The hotel's standard is extremely low. I would never recommend it or stay again. Trust me.

The location is great and the price is affordable. I really like the hotel and think it has good service to offer. The receptionists are friendly, good people, and the service is excellent. At first, the approach wasn't great, perhaps because of the language difference, but staff were helpful. Make your requests clear and they’ll try to help in good faith. The management could touch up the bathroom. I don't agree with all the negative comments, either. If people keep posting only bad things, how will the hotel earn enough to improve the rooms and bathroom?

Some rooms may not have windows, even though the rooms shown in other people's pictures do, so keep that in mind. The employees are friendly, but my room was small and not clean enough. I found hair on the bed, and the bathroom smelled as if someone had been smoking in it.

The rooftop breakfast buffet was a nice way to start the morning. It's a small, distinctive hotel in Chinatown, and the price is fair.
