Uptown Hotel

The room was comfortable, with water and coffee mix provided, and the air conditioning worked very well. There's power around the clock. A buffet breakfast is included, and services are available if you call. Internet speed is still improving. The river view is especially beautiful while having dinner or taking a break.

The view is a bright spot: you can see the rivers meet and the Yangon River open toward the ocean. The room itself was in horrible condition, mouldy, with a broken river-view curtain that wouldn't raise, and stains on both the floor and couch. The elevators are tiny, and the toilet door makes noise. Service was bad too, they didn't even provide shower cream.

The riverside view is beautiful, and the hotel is easy to reach from downtown and popular spots. The decor is nice, and the reception staff were kind, well trained, and helpful. Prices are reasonable, service is great, and the room was comfortable and pleasant. They also offer traditional massage with oils, a spa, an indoor bar, a restaurant, high-speed internet, a large car park, and good security.

The rooms and toilets were dirty and seemed poorly maintained. They use very cheap disposable toothbrushes and toothpaste. The two soap dispensers had only one kind of soap, and it wasn't clear whether it was shampoo or shower soap. How are guests supposed to have a decent shower? Worst hotel experience I've had in Yangon.
