Panorama Hotel

The location made it easy to get around without long car rides, and the service was just normal, nothing bad. I stayed one night for an exam. The bed felt super squishy and comfortable when I jumped onto it, but the hallway gave me a creepy feeling at night. I'd also read reviews mentioning bedbugs, and then an unknown species of bug jumped on me while I was talking with friends. My friend spotted a few cockroaches too, which was a big issue. I liked the place apart from that, but for me it was a 3/10.

The counter staff treated me with contempt, even though I was a paying customer staying at the hotel. They shouldn't behave that way toward any customer.

Traffic noise can be a problem, so I'd suggest asking for an upper floor, and a room at the back if you don't need a view. The breakfast was decent, though the choices repeated. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and the hotel was clean and centrally located near an overpass. It's an older building that's been renovated, and at this price I can't fault it. My cab to the airport was comfortable and clean, cost 8000 kyats, and the doormen can arrange one. I was very happy with my stay for a budget hotel.

Some rooms have been freshened up and have much better lighting, while the others are a bit dim. The rooms are clean and tidy. Staff from reception, security, and the car park attendant were all very friendly and extremely helpful. The location is great for markets, trains, and buses. Remember to request a non-smoking room, since smoking is still allowed in rooms here.
