York Residence Bed and Breakfast

Saw and the new chef in charge made the service stand out. Staff kept checking that everything was okay and offering help. On my first day, I couldn't get a SIM card because of some restrictions in Myanmar, so the staff went with me to a store and helped with my phone. On day three, Saw walked around the block with me to help find a restaurant. The location also made it easy to visit nearby pagodas, a mall, spas, and restaurants. The restaurant is still working on a regular menu, but they were happy to make dishes based on what I was craving if they had the ingredients. I had a full-course meal that tasted better than I expected, especially since the price was surprisingly affordable. At first, the place seemed a bit pretentious to me. My room had a chic, unique design I loved, a very comfortable bed, and a shower that worked perfectly. The Loft Hotel Downtown Yangon exceeded my expectations.

The location is excellent, with downtown and the main sights within walking distance. Bogyoke Market is just 400 meters away, and T.H.O.R, a lively live music venue with a stage, is about a five-minute walk away. The hotel sits on a smaller side street, so it was wonderfully quiet at night. Everything was spotless, and the attentive staff answered my questions and helped with whatever I needed. The beds were extremely comfortable, and breakfast was delicious. I'd definitely stay at The Loft Hotel again next time I'm in Yangon.

A nice option if you're after a rooftop bungalow style vacation in this big city. The room and vibe were good. Breakfast wasn't buffet style, and I wasn't satisfied with it.

We stayed in January 2020 and really enjoyed it. The room was spacious and nicely decorated, and the bathroom was big enough. Everything was clean. Our street-facing room was bright, with not much to look at outside, and I wasn't bothered by street noise. It was actually quite calm at night. The only noise we heard came from upstairs, where our neighbor was probably wearing heavy shoes. The location had pretty much everything we needed close at hand. Staff were very welcoming, and I'd recommend the place 100%.
