The Hotel Mawtin

The room was modern and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom setup is a little unusual since you shower in the middle of it, but the floor dries quickly. Breakfast is strong on Asian food, with different noodles, soup, curry, sweets, and toast. If you really want a Western-style breakfast, though, I wouldn’t choose this hotel. Street noise came up from below, and tiny ants had somehow got into one corner of the room. Still, I’d book again for the nice room, comfy bed, and friendly staff.

The dining staff were amazing. When we went to eat, it felt like being welcomed into a relative’s home. The room itself was quite good, but the shower needs updating. I stayed five days, and the reception service was a real problem from booking through checkout. The receptionists needed more communication training: they couldn’t answer my questions well and didn’t know whether we had returned the room key. At early checkout, nobody was at the front desk, and we nearly missed our check-in time. Aside from reception, everything was perfect. Thank you to the F & B team for treating us like family. The breakfast is a pretty good Asian buffet, and the staff are very friendly. Rooms are good and modern, with a TV, minibar, and safe, though the safe isn’t fixed to the wall. Traffic gets quite noisy in the morning, but I suspect that’s an issue across town. The hotel is in Rangon downtown.

The room was clean and smelled nice, breakfast was delicious, the price was fair, and the dining room staff were especially friendly. A few things need attention: there’s no single room, Visa payments come with an extra 3% charge, and the liquid soap dispenser button wouldn’t press when I tried it.
