Yangon Thanlwin Hotel

The staff are kind and good people, and I think this could become a good hotel. The building, location, and scenery are good too, but the experience was a real waste. You pay $5 for every dirty towel or cloth, and there's a 5% credit card fee. The system is constantly being updated. It's cheap for non-foreigners, so locals use it. For the size of the room, the equipment, room service, and customer service are poor. The windows are dirty, making it hard to see the view. Most facilities were closed for repairs or renovation, and there were hardly any customers. The Wi-Fi was very bad, and the current quality makes even half the price feel too expensive. Breakfast was like what you'd get at a cheap hotel, with very few menu choices and little taste. I'm fine with paying extra for food, but the quality and variety need to improve soon. Room dining is expensive for its quality, the selection is too limited, and there are no photos on the menus. There's no in-room information about services like dining, massage, or guides. I plan to come again, but the hotel needs in-room services befitting a mid-range to high-end hotel, along with fast, high-capacity, stable Wi-Fi. The Chinese restaurant in the same building doesn't know about green pepper shredded pork with green peppers or pork or sweet and sour pork sweet-and-sour pork, or how to make them, and can't prepare those dishes.

There's plenty nearby, from food stalls and drink shops to clothing stores. The hotel sits in central downtown Yangon, which makes popular tourist spots easy to visit. The area is usually noisy and traffic is heavy.

For my first visit to Myanmar, this hotel gave me such a warm welcome. The room service was outstanding, and everything was very clean. Min Thant, the bell boy, greeted me with drinks, helped with my luggage, and even walked me to the ATM. He really went above and beyond. My daughter and I eat plant-based, and Bo Bo oo was patient and kind while helping us find vegan options. The cook, Kyaw Zin Latt, understood what we needed and made amazing food. I'm so happy we stayed here.

The room was huge, with a big king size bed, lots of TV channels, and a clean toilet with a bathtub and shower. Hot and cold water both worked, the WiFi was good, and breakfast had plenty of choices. At check-in, they served a welcome drink in the lobby, and the doorman opened the door and greeted me. Everything, including the service and cleanliness, was perfect. Best hotel I've stayed in Yangon, and I'd definitely stay again if I return. Highly recommended.
