I stayed in a ger at Gaya's and would definitely come back. The bed was comfortable, and they lit a fire in the middle each night, so it got really toasty. Gaya, her daughter, and the rest of the staff were all super friendly. The location worked well for me too, with all the tourist spots within walking distance. Breakfast was tasty as well.

Since so many tour guides in Mongolia don’t speak English, being able to message Gaya whenever we needed help was really useful. She and her daughter were amazing and arranged a trip for me and my friend. If I come back to Mongolia, I’ll definitely stay at her place again.

The dining area was a nice place to swap travel stories and tips with other guests. Gaya can advise you on buses, tours, and walking routes, and she’ll pick you up from the bus station when you arrive and drop you off when you leave. Her home is immaculately clean, and she’s always smiling and ready to laugh, which makes for a lovely atmosphere. The gers in the yard are cozy and warm when needed. Breakfast is included, and there’s hot water for tea, ramen, and instant coffee all day. The beds are comfortable, with an outlet and reading light for each one, and every room has lockers for your things.

The price was very reasonable, but the breakfast was quite basic. The hosts were really kind and helped us a lot with our trip. The beds were very uncomfortable, though, and the toilet was dirty.

We could easily have stayed longer than one night at Gaya’s. It’s outside town, but the free pickup from the bus station was helpful, and being out there made it easy to get to the hills. The guesthouse was clean, comfortable, and well-priced, with a really cozy shared area. They also offer tours around the area. Gaya and her daughter went above and beyond by helping us contact the bus driver, which could have turned into a huge headache. Best stay of our trip in Mongolia.
