The hilltop setting gives you a nice city view, and it’s about a 10-20 minute walk to many of the main shopping and restaurant areas. The front desk guy was easygoing and helpful, arranged an early morning taxi for me, and I got my laundry done. Service was good, though not always reliable. I tried two different rooms. They’re very bare, and one was missing a curtain, so people could look straight in. There was no soap or bath stuff, and cleaning wasn’t up to standard: hairs were scattered over the floor and sheets. A few more minutes of vacuuming would go a long way. It’s too dirty for many people to put up with. It’s a cute, affordable place with a nice owner, but those hygiene issues and the missing curtain mean I wouldn’t stay again.

It’s cheap and in a good spot, with a nice view. The room is basic, though, and there’s no fan, AC, or heat. Hot water did work. Parking is very limited, and getting a lot of luggage up to the roof is a real hassle.

Our private ger was cozy and really comfortable, with a private bathroom, clean and nicely decorated space, and convenient amenities for the price. Gana made us a filling hot breakfast each day, which we appreciated. It’s around a 30-minute walk from the city center and a little out of the way, but the area seemed fairly safe. A great value for budget travelers, and I’d recommend it.

The staff are very friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness needs a lot of work. Rooms and bathrooms should be kept to basic hygiene standards. I know it’s inexpensive, but those basics still matter.

For a backpacker on a tight budget, this is an ideal place. The hosts are welcoming, and staying here felt more like being in someone’s home than in a hotel. It’s near the city center, and the continental breakfast was quite good.
