Pacific Islands Club SAIPAN

The room was awful, with a construction site as the view. They called it a Superior room, but it felt more like an Inferior one. They don’t provide bottled water, and after I asked for a toothbrush, I had to call three times before one arrived. I chose PIC partly because seafood night was supposed to be dinner. The selection was very limited and disappointing, with no sushi, poke, sashimi, fried fish, or baked fish. No fish at all on seafood night? I also waited all morning for the Galley to open for lunch at 11:30, but it never opened. We had to leave the resort to get lunch. I was embarrassed to bring my wife here. Do yourself a favor and stay at another resort on Saipan.

We had to go elsewhere for dinner, and that pretty much summed up our stay. We were told only Beach BBQ was open, at $70 per person, with no other place serving food in the resort. We went to The Angry Penne in Garapan instead, which turned out to be the best decision we made that day. Choosing PIC was the worst. I came back after 10 years, excited to show my fiancee the place I grew up visiting as a club member. PIC isn’t close to what it used to be, and the letdowns kept coming. We got there at 2pm, knew check-in started at 3, and still had to wait another 30-40 minutes even though the place was nearly empty. The waterpark was another disappointment. Several areas and activities were closed, and the few pools that were open closed at 5pm, leaving us less than two hours to enjoy them. When we asked about the next day, we were told many areas wouldn’t open until after 12pm, checkout time. We also weren’t allowed to use the waterpark after checkout. Unless you stay two nights, which I wouldn’t recommend, you don’t get much chance to use those amenities. There was loud music from 9am and it went on until 10pm. For a resort I remember as higher end, I expected guests to get some peace. The website also doesn’t say how much of the property is closed. If I’d known what was unavailable, I wouldn’t have booked. With the place so quiet, an early check-in and a little waterpark time after checkout would have meant a lot. I just wanted to share a bit of the island magic I remembered with my spouse.

The atmosphere was pleasant, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We had the Sunday brunch buffet, with lots of different dishes to choose from, and everything tasted delicious. There was also plenty of room to move around.

The staff were kind and the service was great. I walked in with my friends, and I’m really sorry about the sweat stain on the couch. I’d still come back. ✌️😭❤️‍🩹🌹
