Serenti Hotel Saipan

The rooms were clean, the showers had very good water pressure, and parking was easy. There are lots of restaurants within walking distance, and the place felt safe.

It took me a minute to figure out the lights since the switches weren’t like the usual mainland style. The hotel was decent, and I liked the slightly firm beds. There was a motion-sensor light near the bathroom and entry, though, which woke me up more than I wanted during quick nighttime bathroom trips. It’s in a decent spot on the strip. There may be construction noise from the huge hotel and casino going up next door, but it was generally quiet enough to sleep well by 10 or 11 pm.

It’s easy to get to and reasonably priced, but the unfriendly female employee left me feeling really bad. I’d booked for three people, but they said I had to pay extra because the reservation was only for two. We spent a long time searching for the booking in frustration, then she gave us the key because it was her mistake. Things were fine until I asked why there was a set of spoon forks in the room. I had to explain what “disposable” and “plastic” meant. To me, that showed either a basic lack of understanding of the Serenti Hotel Room amenities or a lack of awareness. She spoiled my good impression of Saipan. I regret coming here in a rush. I personally didn’t like the place, but I hope you have a happy trip to Saipan.

The location is probably the best in Saipan, right in the middle of Garapan near all the restaurants, and the rooms are big. I stayed for about two months across two different rooms, each with a different view. They installed an electric do not disturb/room service sign, but it didn’t work well. I still had to hang the sign on the door, or they wouldn’t clean the room. Several times, it wasn’t cleaned even when I used the electric sign to request service. Most of the staff were friendly. One woman had no customer service skills. I left my key in the room, and when I asked her for it she seemed annoyed because she was busy on her phone. She was also the only one who had an issue with me leaving my laundry bag at the counter downstairs, where I’d originally been told to put it. I even had to ask my colleague to bring it back upstairs for collection. After I’d been told to leave my laundry in the room, she kept making sarcastic reminders about it.
