Karibea Le Squash Hotel

The pool was great and we enjoyed the food. They also let us leave our luggage after checkout. Getting around on foot was difficult since the hotel sits up a steep hill from downtown Fort-de-France, and the WiFi was patchy in parts of the building. The staff seemed annoyed by our presence, with eye rolls when we asked for a pool towel. We stayed two nights and would have preferred just one.

The team were lovely, really friendly and ready to help. We stayed eight nights, and the hotel felt fine for a three-star place. The rooms are spacious, the bathrooms were fine, and breakfast was very good. We also liked the pool. The restaurant had some tasty options at reasonable prices.

We wanted to watch the Superbowl and have dinner in the bar, but they said we couldn't, even though the restaurant wasn't busy. Then they cut the power before the game had finished. The surge fried my phone charger. The previous reviews I read were right.

The spa, bar, and pool were my favorite parts, and I loved the ocean view from both my room and the pool. The music was always on point, and there were even live bands. I grew up in Ny, so I enjoyed being able to walk into downtown and to a nearby beach, then explore the city. The staff were great and helped whenever I needed something. I didn't expect to enjoy my stay this much. It was just the weekend getaway I needed.
