The rooftop pool, bar and seating area were a real highlight, with wonderful views over the church, Mellieħa and the Mediterranean. The hotel also has good rooms, a nice breakfast and a decent dinner selection, and we enjoyed our stay. If you can, pick a balcony room in the main building. Otherwise, the room is mostly just somewhere to sleep, with little comfort. I found reception a bit rushed. When you ask a question, it can feel like they want to give a quick answer and move you along. The area has plenty of restaurants, bars and historic places nearby, and you can walk down to the beach. The way back is very steep, so I'd take a bus. Maltese people always seem to have something to celebrate, with parades happening almost all the time! 😊

We booked a lower-priced room without a balcony or a sea or courtyard view. It was clean, practical and roomy, with everything we needed for a week. The staff were friendly and efficient. I can't comment on the pricier rooms with balconies and better views, but I'd happily recommend this as a very cost-effective holiday stay.

We spent two weeks here and it suited our needs well. The rooftop pool and bar were great for us as a couple, with drinks and food brought to our seats. Kids weren't allowed on the roof for safety reasons, so we didn't use the garden or indoor pool, though those looked like good options for families. Breakfast was very good, and the cakes and sweets changed from day to day. Our room was nice and made up daily, with a small balcony. My partner smokes and was annoyed that there was no ashtray out there. The front desk staff were welcoming and helped with our questions. The spa was lovely, too. I had two facials and a back, shoulder and neck massage, and they explained everything as they went. Room service was quick and efficient, but when we asked three times for the tray to be collected, nobody came, so we left it outside the door rather than keep it in the room overnight. The service and do-not-disturb buttons by the bed seemed a bit useless. Housekeeping knocked even when a button was on, but didn't knock when we put the physical do-not-disturb sign on the door. At check-in, we got a booklet for tours sold by the agency next door, which was conveniently located. The restaurant also gives residents a 10% discount. I'd recommend the hotel.

Apart from one thing, we've been very happy with the room and the service. The perfume in the bedrooms is extremely strong, and seems to come through the central air-conditioning. It made us feel unwell and gave us a burning feeling in our throats. We could smell it in the restaurant too. We hope the hotel will consider turning down or removing the fragrance from the central AC. It's overwhelming if you're sensitive to strong smells.
