The most alarming part was the lack of privacy. While my girlfriend was showering, a cleaning staff member came in without knocking, then ran out after realizing she was there. Two minutes later another man entered the room. She no longer felt safe staying there. We’d paid extra for a sea-view room, but found a cockroach as soon as we entered. After we told reception, they moved us to a smaller room with no windows and a smaller bed. The next day staff said there were no other rooms, but promised a “deep clean.” It was a joke, the room still looked dirty. There was mold and a strong, unpleasant smell, and we were uncomfortable the whole time. They put a fan in the room, but electricity was sensor-controlled, so it only worked when we were physically there. We also saw a cockroach crawling under our table at breakfast. We wanted to leave after the first day and asked for a refund, but the hotel refused, saying they don’t issue refunds. Later they said it was because we booked through Revolut, which makes no sense. This was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. The hygiene problems are serious, as are the safety and privacy issues. I strongly recommend staying somewhere else.

The staff were genuinely friendly and helpful, and the hotel was decent, but it didn’t suit our family. The pools were small and crowded, so our three boys couldn’t splash and play without us asking them to stop disturbing other guests. For a place advertised as family-friendly, the facilities didn’t give kids like ours enough room to burn off energy. The town is pleasant and has a good range of restaurants, though they’re on the expensive side. Getting around with children was the main drawback: narrow roads, heavy traffic and speeding cars left nowhere safe for them to play. Our first room smelled strongly of damp. To the hotel’s credit, they moved us promptly to another without the same problem. But general cleaning was disappointing. It happened regularly, yet often felt superficial, with dirt from the previous day still there.

We really enjoyed our week here, especially the location and the Italian restaurant attached to the hotel, ciccio cucina. The breakfast buffet had lots of choices. Staff were attentive and helpful, from reception to the bar, and everyone was friendly. Our room was spacious and the air con worked well. Cleaning could have been more thorough, though, it felt more like a surface clean. We’re not especially fussy, but some people might mind.

My friend and I had such a lovely time here the last week in September. The hotel was affordable and up to a high standard. The staff were all lovely, especially Balint at reception, who cheerfully answered all our questions and was really helpful. The cleaners even folded our pyjamas and sat our teddies together on the bed, such a cute detail. We’d come back and definitely recommend it.
