Qawra Point Holiday Complex

The room felt unsafe from the start. When I arrived around midnight on a last-minute solo trip, nobody was at reception. I rang the bell several times and waited about 20 minutes before someone came. The staff member was friendly, but upstairs I found the door wouldn't lock. As a young woman travelling alone for the first time, I felt extremely unsafe. I reported it, but was told that this was “normal in the hotel” and nothing could be done. It was never fixed during my stay. On my last night, just as I was going to sleep, I heard the door open and two staff members came in without warning or knocking. They said they were checking the windows. I didn't understand why they were doing that in the middle of the night, and it made me very uneasy. I was glad it was my last night there. The room was also very dirty. Housekeeping didn't come every day, and when they did, they seemed to spend only 5-10 minutes. The sheets looked as if they hadn't been changed in weeks. There were small blood spots on the pillow, stains and crumbs in the bed, and thick dust around the room. The stove, microwave and TV didn't seem to work. The room was outdated and smelled strongly musty and damp. There was mould almost everywhere in the bathroom, making it unpleasant to use. Noise was another major problem: the walls weren't soundproof, and I could hear everything in nearby rooms and hallways. This stay was extremely disappointing and uncomfortable. I'd strongly advise others to avoid this hotel.

It was clean and spacious, with a lovely view. But at around 3-4am on our last night, a front desk staff member let himself and another person into the room. As a woman, I didn't feel safe with them just letting themselves in.

The rooms were huge for two people and had good equipment. We weren't completely happy with our room, but by the end we really enjoyed our stay. It was my first visit to Malta, in May 2023. The place is very well located, with the beach, sea, shops, pubs and restaurants all nearby. The sea view from the top is excellent.

Our two-bedroom apartment had two single beds in each bedroom and lots of storage. The small kitchen area had a fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle and two hotplates. There's a balcony at the back of the building that gets sun, plus a roof terrace with loungers and an above-ground pool. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff were lovely and smiley, and the location is on the edge of town. We'd definitely return.
