The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my nearly three-week stay. The apartment is in a quiet, pleasant area right in the centre, with the beach promenade close by. Supermarkets, cafés and bars, restaurants, ATMs and the bus station are all just a short walk away. I’d happily recommend it.

I waited two weeks for a clear answer, and by then the other places I could have booked were gone, leaving my family without accommodation. I’d asked several times whether the booking was okay, but got no response. I also offered to change the card details, make a transfer, or do whatever was needed to secure it, and those offers were ignored too. The booking system accepted different banks and cards, so I don’t think the payment issue was my fault. I understand the system may have caused the problem, but there was no effort to sort it out or even explain that my booking had already been lost. It was made to sound as if the issue was still being fixed. I had to keep chasing you, and you only tried calling once. When you finally called, I stayed polite because I felt sorry for you, but there wasn’t even an apology. You said you’d help and suggest alternatives, then I heard nothing. This was not acceptable conduct. I’ll post this review, and I hope it teaches you to do proper due diligence and treat people better.

We spent 10 days in November 2025 in a two-bedroom apartment and would happily stay again. It was spacious and well located, with shops, cafés and bars within walking distance. The facilities were basic but had everything we needed. The rooftop pool was pleasant, though the water was freezing because it isn’t heated. There were sun loungers, and sitting out in the 24° weather was lovely. The staff were friendly too. I emailed after we arrived to ask for an extra blanket, and it was brought the same day. Thank you!

The main problem was how little rest we got. There was shouting and drunken noise at night, and at 4 AM we were woken by drunk guests swimming in the rooftop pool, even though signs asked people to keep quiet. The building seemed to draw a younger, party-focused crowd. We also saw several cockroaches, which felt like a serious health concern. Inside, the rooms were tiny and cramped, with no view, and the apartment got unbearably hot, especially at night. Air conditioning costs extra, which made that worse. The rooftop pool was decent, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Shamrock Apartments is centrally located in St. Paul’s Bay, which is convenient. It may be cheap, but the trade-off is poor sleep and comfort. If you want to rest while enjoying Malta, I’d spend more for somewhere cleaner, quieter and cooler.
