The front desk lady handles pretty much every question and makes sure you're comfortable. She's open, always smiling, and very helpful. I enjoyed my stay, and the breakfast included in the rate was very good. I can't really comment on room sizes since the price makes a difference, but the rooms are clean, equipped, and comfortable. Air-conditioning costs extra and is paid for.

The shared bathroom had me hesitating when I booked, since I was watching my budget, but the strong ratings convinced me to give it a go. It was spotless, and Theresa and Pauline were great. I'd happily return and spend longer exploring Mdina on my next trip to Malta.

It was 41 degrees outside, and inside our room it was unbearably hot. We couldn't sleep through the night, with no electricity for the whole day and night. On top of that, the shower only had very hot water, so we couldn't cool off that way either. It was a really distressing stay. The power was already out when we arrived on the first day and didn't come back until the next day. Later, after dinner, we found we couldn't get through the locked door because the power had been cut, so we had to call the owner. At check-in an employee told us the air conditioner needed a paid top-up card, something never mentioned when we booked. After we complained about the power situation, the owner gave us an aircon card for free, but the shower water was still hot until checkout.

The guesthouse is run by a family and sits in Rabat, a charming village. Mdina, the old capital, is only minutes away, as is the greener, more rural part of the island. It's a handy base for exploring northern Malta.
