I was in Malta for six weeks and had planned to spend two nights here, booking a room through Booking.com. I accidentally picked the wrong date, so since I was already there, I tried to sort it out directly with the owner. He was rude and completely unwilling to be flexible, even though my arrival date was still nine days away. Soon after, every room for that period was booked on both Booking.com and the owner’s website. The owner has now charged me twice, which was obvious to him from the start. It was peak holiday season.

A funny, friendly host and a great spot. The accommodation was really good. If you’re visiting Malta and Rabat, I can highly recommend it.

There was a lot of noise one morning, from about 3 to 5am. It sounded like cleaning, with brooms or mops falling, doors slamming and buckets being emptied, but I couldn’t see anything happening on our floor when I got up to look. Sometimes the bathroom also smelled of sewage. I didn’t ask the staff about either issue. Aside from those two things, it was an excellent stay and I’d definitely return. The room and bathroom were both big and had good amenities, and the air conditioning worked well. We arrived late to find the door locked, but the number on our reservation was answered right away; they gave us the code, and our key and papers were waiting inside. The Maltese woman at Reception was lovely, helpful and friendly, as were all the staff. There was always street parking within a few minutes’ walk in this quiet location.

A small, very nice hotel in Rabat, with friendly and helpful staff. They gave us a list of good local restaurants and places to visit. I’d have no hesitation recommending it to anyone wanting to stay very close to Mdina.
