1926 Le Soleil Hotel & SPA

The location worked really well for finding nearby shops and local restaurants. Staff were attentive, and we were given an upgrade, which was a nice surprise. Our room was bigger and better than we expected, with two king size beds, plenty of space, and a relaxing feel. The warm indoor pool was wonderful, and there was also a sauna and steam room. My skin was glowing afterwards. Breakfast had a good buffet selection, including vegan and healthier choices like chia seed pudding and fresh fruit, plus mini pastries for a small sweet treat. They provided a robe and complimentary slippers for the pool.

The staff made a strong impression, with helpful, welcoming service throughout. The breakfast team deserve a special mention for making each morning feel special. Housekeeping was generally good, and we appreciated the turndown service, although there were a few times we had to ask for extra items. We liked both the rooftop pool and the beach club. The rooftop is small, and loungers had to be reserved through the hotel app, but that was easy enough and we never had trouble finding one. It might be harder later in the season or with a larger group. The beach club felt more like another hotel pool than a place to party, which suited us fine. Our main disappointment was the room. It was small, as other reviews have said, and storage was very limited. It also felt worn down. The bathroom wasn't practical: the shower door didn't work properly and water spilled onto the floor. Even so, we had a pleasant stay at 1926 Le Soleil.

We stayed in November, when the beachside facilities were closed. My wife did use the basement spa, which included one free visit for one person. The hotel occupies two buildings facing one another on a quiet side street, handy for shops, bars and transport. We were welcomed with sparkling wine by the concierge. Our room had a sauna, plunge pool, a big comfortable bed and a small balcony, plus a complimentary bottle of wine on arrival.

We had a really enjoyable three-night stay. The staff were friendly and accommodating, and our room was clean and well equipped. We made good use of the pool, sauna and bar, and the beach bar and its space were great too. Happy hour was fun, with some good cocktails.
