The rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast was served on the square with fresh orange juice and decent coffee. But what arrived didn’t always match the menu: sausage was listed but missing, and local cheese was absent one morning and back the next. The hot breakfast changed too, with fried tomato one day and fresh tomato the next. The fried eggs were underdone, with translucent whites. After breakfast one morning, we went back for our bags and found the room being cleaned. We said we’d be out in a minute, but the cleaner said she was finished and left. The bed hadn’t been made, and the soap hadn’t been replaced. We only got one small sachet of shower gel per person each day. There’s also a tiny Koi Carp pond with only about 15cm of water, no plants, and just stones. I’d move the fish somewhere suitable for them and leave the pond as decoration.

The hotel is right in the centre, with plenty of places to eat just downstairs. Our room had a nice rustic feel, with limestone brick walls, and was well furnished and properly cleaned. The bathroom was spacious, too. Staff were polite and considerate, and breakfast was decent. There weren’t many vegetarian choices, though the staff made an effort. The toiletries could have been better.

Restaurants are right downstairs, and shopping, bus stops, Bolt and Uber pickups are all walkable. The Cittadella is close by too. Our room was a good size, the host was friendly, and we appreciated the large bathroom with both a shower and tub and decent amenities. We enjoyed our stay and would come back.

Liliana made us feel incredibly welcome and did everything she could for us. We stayed in four places in Malta, and this was easily our favourite. The spacious suite was spotless, with modern touches that suited the building’s original architecture. It had coffee and water, a mini fridge, a TV with plenty of international stations, and fantastic shower pressure. From the balcony, we could look over the central square below. The restaurants downstairs brought some noise, but it wasn’t too much and gave the place a lively feel. The location is central and close to the Citadel, Gozo’s main attraction. Breakfast was included, and several restaurants nearby served great food, with bars offering happy hour deals. I’d happily spend a little extra for the penthouse on the top floor. I’d give the place ten stars if I could, so don’t wait around reading reviews, just book it.
