Handy for the restaurants, with bus stops nearby and a decent enough view. The apartment was clean and tidy, can't fault it.

We've stayed in this apartment for the past six years, and the views from both the front and back are impeccable. Joe was extremely helpful, and finding parking in December wasn't a problem at all. There are a few things that could be improved with a bit more thought: one toilet leaks, the kitchen has very few pots and dishes and needs some replacements, and the Wi-Fi was a big problem in December 2021, so we relied on 3G most of the time. The price reflects these things, but some modernization could bring better reviews and happier guests. Thanks for your help, and I hope to see you again soon.

The host's friendliness made a real difference. We hadn't experienced that kind of personal touch on trips in continental Europe, especially Scandinavia, where every obligation seems to come with a charge. He was quick to answer questions on the sample booking chat, supplied laundry detergent, and after taking us and our bags to the flat in his car, came back once we'd settled in to drive us to the local supermarket. When we arrived in summer 2022, the bus stop outside the entrance had been moved because of roadworks. Neither we nor the sample navigation software knew, and this hadn't been mentioned in the sample booking messages. The host found us on the street and offered us a lift, which we gladly accepted. The flat is spacious, with two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a large kitchen-dining area. It has plenty of utensils and appliances, two balconies with decent views, and is fairly well placed near the bay. Wi-Fi worked well, the fridge had a freezer, and there were several adapters for European electronics in Maltese sockets. There were two sets of keys in case one of us got locked out, plus a complimentary bottle of mineral water. Recycling instructions were clear, including for food scraps, and there was a good line with pegs for drying laundry. A few drawbacks: the replacement bus stop is quite a distance away, and the elevator doors close very quickly. The ground-floor entrance is ramshackle and needs a makeover. The TV didn't work at first, though the host fixed it the next morning, and there were at best two English-language channels. Payment was cash only, though we managed an international bank transfer through online banking on our laptop. Air conditioning is only in the two bedrooms and runs on euro coins in a slot, though it costs little. The washing machine's shortest program is 15 minutes, which wasn't long enough for our clothes. The towels shed little balls of fiber, the toilet flush in one bathroom didn't work properly, and the mattresses and pillows were a bit uncomfortable. We also had to keep windows shut and use repellent cream to avoid mosquitoes. The positives outweighed the issues, and our kind Gozitan landlord and his family were so thoughtful that they made us forget the drawbacks.

The owner was friendly, and there was a bus stop close by. Everything was fine: three rooms, two bathrooms, two balconies, a large kitchen and air conditioning in the rooms.
