La Maison de la Plage

We were so uncomfortable that we left after one night, despite arriving late from the airport. The owners didn’t show concern or take responsibility when we left early. Breakfast was awful: stale bread, boxed juice, and eggs that made me physically ill. There was no hot water, lizards in our room, and the accommodation felt like a run-down backpackers or somebody’s house, not a proper guesthouse or hotel. The place also felt unpleasant and unhygienic. In shared areas there were constant loud snorting and nose-clearing noises, which added to the generally poor standard. The owners were rude and dismissive, and seemed uninterested in guests. The online ratings are completely misleading and must be fake, because they don’t reflect reality. This was the worst place we’ve ever stayed. It should be embarrassed by the standard it offers, and I’d strongly advise people to avoid it. Shame on you.

The garden was so peaceful, with the beach only a few steps away. Our room was as expected, tastefully decorated and opening onto breathtaking ocean views. The property is beautifully maintained, with comfort, charm and style throughout. Jérôme and Karine made us feel at home from the start. They were warm, welcoming and attentive, shared helpful local tips, and their care showed in everything from the delicious breakfasts to our thoughtful evening conversations. Thanks also to Jimmy, their friend, who offers excellent taxi services and was a great guide. He helped us discover some real hidden gems around the island. La Maison de la Plage is in a stunning, peaceful beachfront setting. We felt at home and in a dream at the same time. Highly recommend!

Karine and Jerome shared their home, their knowledge of the island and some delicious homemade rum with us. They made us feel at home in a gorgeous B&B with beach access and all the amenities. Albion is in a handy spot in the centre of the west coast, with everywhere on the island no more than an hour away. It’s a perfect, relaxing and authentic base if you want to explore what the island has to offer. Really wonderful experience. Merci!
